"summary": "Commercial terminal built in Rust that groups output into blocks, adds an IDE-style input editor and integrates AI agents for command generation and debugging",
"description": "Warp is a terminal application developed by the company of the same name, written in Rust with GPU rendering and available for macOS, Linux and Windows. Rather than a plain scrollback, it organizes each command and its output into a block that can be copied, shared or searched, and the input area behaves like a text editor with completions, syntax highlighting and multi-line editing. AI features generate commands from natural language, explain errors and, in agent mode, run multi-step tasks in the terminal.\n\nTeam features include shared workflows, notebooks and session sharing through Warp Drive. Warp follows a freemium model with paid individual, team and enterprise plans. The application itself is proprietary; the GitHub repository is used for issue tracking and open-sourced components rather than the full source. Caveats: an account is required for AI features, telemetry and cloud features raise questions for sensitive environments that its privacy policy addresses, and the block model changes some conventional terminal behaviors that tools such as tmux rely on.",
