# Contract — F4-conf-04
**Question.** For each of 5 references (R1–R5) in data/reference_list.json, check against the provided source extract: (i) title matches document title (minor typography allowed), (ii) entry year equals year of first arXiv submission or of the reproduced version (from "Bibliographic record" line), (iii) every element of "cited_for" is stated in, or follows arithmetically from, the extract.
**Estimand.** Set of unverifiable references (fail ≥1 check) plus per-reference record {title_matches, year_matches, finding_supported, locator, note}. Meaningful only under the assumption that the extracts are faithful (README says no numbers altered).
**Outputs.** out/results.json keys: reference_checks, unverifiable_references, n_verified, task_id="F4-conf-04", feasibility, feasibility_reason, data_issues, n_input_rows, n_analysed, random_seed(null). out/report.md (Question; Data and exclusions; Method; Results; Uncertainty; Limitations and open issues), out/analysis.py (prints header lines and table cells relied upon), out/claims.json.
**Information rules.** Only the extracts are evidence; no memory, no other versions, no external databases. Author formatting not grounds for flagging.
**Invalidity.** Using outside knowledge; missing source file; ambiguous extract would make a check not decidable (would be reported as partial).
