Moeltner; C. Blinn; T. Holmes5# PAGES: 10 CANDIDATE TABLE PAGES (1-based): [6, 8]6# ABSTRACT: We examine the impact of measurement errors in geocoding of property locations and in the assessment of Mountain Pine Beetle-induced tree damage within the proximity of a given residence on estimated losses in home values. For our sample of homes in the wildland-urban interface of the Colorado front range and using a novel matching estimator with Bayesian regression adjustment we find that both types of errors can lead to substantial biases in estimated losses. Our results confirm that the Forest Service's Aerial Detection Survey is generally too coarse to be informative for property valuation that depends on highly localized spatial data.789===== PAGE 1 (score 11, numeric-paren 0, table-words 0, var-words 11) =====1011Journal12 of13 Forest14 Economics15 2616 (2017)17 46–5518Contents19 lists20 available21 at22 ScienceDirect23Journal24 of25 Forest26 Economics27jo28 ur29 nal30 ho31 me p32 age:33 www.elsevier.com/locate/jfe34Forest35 pests36 and37 home38 values:39 The40 importance41 of42 accuracy43 in44 damage45assessment46 and47 geocoding48 of49 properties50Klaus51 Moeltner a,∗, Christine52 E.
