Even the smallest bandwidth (the 1994 rule of thumb, 5 lags) gives p = 0.115.\n- **Reference distribution:** using a Student-t instead of the normal would only make the p-value larger.\n- **Point estimate:** β̂ = 0.10 is positive. That gives t = 1.56, p = 0.120, and a 95% interval of [−0.026, 0.230], which contains zero. `memo_claim_supported` is false.\n- **The verdict doesn't depend on the lag choice.** Anywhere from 5 to 24 lags, p stays between 0.115 and 0.125.\n- **Checks:** I checked the Newey–West standard error against my own independent calculation and got the same value. A clean re-run reproduces `results.json` byte for byte. No observations were excluded (400 analysed).\n\n**Limitations:**\n- Newey–West tests tend to reject too often when both series are persistent, so the true p-value is probably higher than 0.12.
