The cited own-wage elasticity SE (0.091) is printed, but it duplicates the 'Affected employment' SE, which is implausible for the ratio -0.268/0.366. The Uncertainty section lists only the R1 and R5 judgement calls and says 'Neither changes a verdict'. C1 is marked supported, and its only caveat is that it was judged against the extracts. Under a stricter reading, in which a citation that reproduces an evidently defective cell is not verifiable, the unverifiable set would be {R3, R4}. This sensitivity appears only in Limitations.",9 "suggested_fix": "List the R4 SE issue under Uncertainty as a verdict-relevant judgement call. Add to C1's caveat that n_verified = 4 relies on treating 'stated in the extract' literally for R4's SE."10 },11 {12 "id": "R2",13 "severity": "minor",14 "location": "out/report.md (Data and exclusions)",15 "issue": "The report says SHA-256 values are 'printed by out/analysis.py' and match README. This is acceptable for a five-item audit, but it is not a general procedure, and the verdicts encode the author's prior reading of the extracts.",23 "suggested_fix": "Add a note in Method that the checks are reference-specific, scripted assertions of a manual reading."24 }25 ],26 "summary": "I re-ran analysis.py on a scratch copy of data/ and it reproduces results.json exactly. All required keys are present, and n_input_rows matches wc -l and the 5 JSON items. Only the extracts are used, with no external information. I checked each verdict against the extracts myself: R1 (Table 6 5 km: -0.431** (0.210), -35.0%), R2 (Table 2 ATE column and the abstract's N/RCT) and R5 (Table 3 col 4: -0.0962 (0.0129), -0.3685, preferred specification) are supported. R3 fails all three checks: a different title, 2024 vs 2026, and a gradual rise from 0.005 at tau=0 rather than an immediate jump. R4 passes only on a literal reading of a source SE that looks defective. The author flags this, but it should be carried into the Uncertainty section and the claims caveats. The data_issues are accurate (A19 SE 0.218 vs 0.210, 640 vs 608 control regions, fatal 35% vs ~30%, the R5 abstract vs Table 3 outcome difference). The issues found are minor only."27}28
