Does `out/results.json` contain every required key with legitimately computed values? Re-run `out/analysis.py` in a scratch copy if needed and compare.\n2. Are the information-availability rules of `TASK.md` respected by the code (for example no use of future information, no use of forbidden inputs)? Read the code to verify; do not trust the report.\n3. Full audit in `out/state/data_audit.md`.\n- Issues detected (`data_issues`):\n 1. 45 rows repeat an earlier `firm_id`; every one is an exact full-row duplicate (no conflicting values). Handling: keep one row per firm. Result: 400 distinct firms (`n_unique_firms`).\n 2. Mixed revenue units: some rows are in `USD_thousands`, the rest in `USD_millions`. Handling: divide `USD_thousands` values by 1000 (60 distinct firms). After conversion, revenue per employee for the two groups falls in the same range, so the `unit` labels look correct.\n 3. 6 distinct firms have an empty revenue cell (`n_missing_revenue`): F0048, F0121, F0129, F0269, F0348, F0399. Handling: they are left out of the revenue aggregates but kept in `n_unique_firms` and `mean_employees`.\n- Exclusion ledger (`out/exclusions.csv`): 445 → (drop exact duplicates, −45) 400 → (unit recoding, −0) 400 → (drop missing revenue, −6) 394 = `n_analysed`. The analytic dataset `out/analytic.csv` has 394 rows, one per firm.\n\n## Method\nThis is deterministic data cleaning plus descriptive statistics (pandas). It uses no randomness (`random_seed` = null). Revenue aggregates are the arithmetic mean and median of `revenue_musd` over the 394 analysed firms. `mean_employees` is the mean head count over all 400 deduplicated firms. The baseline `mean_revenue_raw` is the mean of the raw `revenue` column over all 438 non-empty rows, taken as read, with no deduplication or unit conversion. `out/analysis.py` regenerates every output.\n\n## Results\n- Distinct firms: 400 (`n_unique_firms`). Firms with unknown revenue: 6 (`n_missing_revenue`). Firms analysed: 394 (`n_analysed`).\n- Mean revenue: 249.96 million USD (`mean_revenue_musd`). Median revenue: 162.31 million USD (`median_revenue_musd`). The mean is above the median, so the distribution is right-skewed.\n- Mean employees: 1101.4 (`mean_employees`).\n- Raw baseline: 30,695.9 in the file's mixed units (`mean_revenue_raw`). This number has no meaningful unit. It is about 123 times the cleaned mean because the `USD_thousands` rows are mixed in without conversion, which shows why the unit recoding is necessary.\n- Feasibility: complete (`feasibility`).\n\n## Uncertainty\nThe estimands describe this file exactly; there is no sampling uncertainty about them. For reference only, if the 394 firms were treated as a random sample, the standard deviation of revenue would be 274.3 million USD (`sd_revenue_musd`) and the standard error of the mean 13.82 million USD (`se_mean_revenue_musd`). The results depend on the cleaning choices: whether to deduplicate, how to convert units, and that missing revenue is treated as missing completely at random (unknown values are not imputed).\n\n## Limitations and open issues\n- The data are simulated. Duplicates were identified by exact match on all columns. Near-duplicates with different `firm_id` values cannot be detected from this file.\n- I assumed the `unit` column is correct on every row. A plausibility check of revenue per employee (85.9k–826.9k USD) found no rows that look mislabelled, but this cannot be fully verified.\n- Excluding the 6 firms with missing revenue may bias the revenue aggregates if the missingness is related to firm size. Their head counts (326 to 3547) span the observed range.\nchecks.md\ncontract.md\ndata_audit.md\ngate_receipts\nlog.md\nphases.json\nfirm_id,sector,revenue_musd,employees\nF0001,retail,57.782,177\nF0002,services,1770.583,7950\n 395 out/analytic.csv","is_error":false}]},"uuid":"d5cab310-e0cc-4eab-bcd1-1bf2f31c3ef2","timestamp":"2026-10-30T03:49:22.042Z","toolUseResult":{"stdout":"\"\"\"F1-dev-01: build analytic firm dataset and revenue aggregates. The review is saved in `out/review/review.json`.\n\nI re-ran `out/analysis.py` on a scratch copy, and the three files it produces (`results.json`, `analytic.csv`, `exclusions.csv`) came out byte-for-byte identical to the submitted ones. Separate checks on `data/firms.csv` match the reported numbers:\n- **Firms:** the file has 445 rows. 45 are exact duplicates of another row, with no conflicting values, which leaves 400 distinct firms.\n- **Missing revenue:** 7 raw rows have an empty revenue cell, which is 6 distinct firms after removing duplicates. That leaves 394 firms in the revenue aggregates, and `analytic.csv` has exactly 394 rows.\n- **Units:** 60 firms report revenue in thousands of USD and are correctly divided by 1000. After conversion, revenue per employee looks the same for both groups, so the unit labels seem right.\n- **Aggregates:** mean revenue is 249.96 million USD and the median is 162.31. Mean head count over all 400 firms is 1101.4.\n- **Baseline:** the raw, uncleaned revenue mean (30,695.9, in mixed units) is present as required.\n- **Exclusion ledger:** the row counts chain correctly from 445 to 394, and the six excluded firms are named.\n\nThe code uses only the permitted input file, and every required output key is present.\n\nThe two minor points:\n1. **Claim C6 is marked \"supported\" but is hypothetical.** It gives a standard error \"if the firms were treated as a sample\", while the report itself says the results describe the file exactly. It should be marked \"not_evaluated\" or dropped.\n2. **The Uncertainty section words the missing-revenue point as an assumption.** It says missing revenue is treated as \"missing completely at random\". It should say plainly that unknown revenues are excluded rather than imputed, and that this could bias the aggregates if missingness is related to firm size, as the Limitations section already notes.\n\nLimitations are otherwise stated honestly, and calling the work \"complete\" is justified."}],"container":null,"stop_reason":"end_turn","stop_sequence":null,"stop_details":null,"usage":{"input_tokens":2,"cache_creation_input_tokens":998,"cache_read_input_tokens":10097,"output_tokens":749,"output_tokens_details":{"thinking_tokens":29},"server_tool_use":{"web_search_requests":0,"web_fetch_requests":0},"service_tier":"standard","cache_creation":{"ephemeral_1h_input_tokens":0,"ephemeral_5m_input_tokens":998},"inference_geo":"global","iterations":[],"speed":"standard","fallback_credit":null},"input_transformations":[],"diagnostics":null,"context_management":null},"apiBlockIndex":1,"requestId":"req_011CgXjrMaiwjpyrRXe1gmEa","requestRef":"6d415563-e1c5-4109-af53-a5a9999453b8","requestedModel":"claude-opus-5-5","type":"assistant","uuid":"5b17ea21-743a-4f14-a523-988b0ae1680f","timestamp":"2026-10-30T03:49:45.701Z","effort":"medium","perTurnEffort":"medium","userType":"external","entrypoint":"sdk-cli","cwd":"/Users/simon-pierreboucher/wp29/runs/RP0005","sessionId":"221ac842-a9ef-4067-a050-74bc9a1bcae9","version":"2.1.314","gitBranch":"HEAD"}39{"type":"last-prompt","lastPrompt":"Review","leafUuid":"5b17ea21-743a-4f14-a523-988b0ae1680f","sessionId":"221ac842-a9ef-4067-a050-74bc9a1bcae9"}40{"type":"cost-state","sessionId":"221ac842-a9ef-4067-a050-74bc9a1bcae9","totalCostUSD":0.1070556,"totalAPIDuration":27043,"totalAPIDurationWithoutRetries":27039,"totalToolDuration":1052,"totalLinesAdded":0,"totalLinesRemoved":0,"totalDuration":28215,"startTime":1793332157495,"modelUsage":{"claude-opus-5-5":{"inputTokens":12,"outputTokens":2667,"thinkingTokens":238,"cacheReadInputTokens":28563,"cacheCreationInputTokens":9591,"cacheCreationEphemeral5mInputTokens":9591,"cacheCreationEphemeral1hInputTokens":0,"webSearchRequests":0,"costUSD":0.1070556}},"hasUnknownModelCost":false}41
