CLAUDE.md — WP31: PRISME-SLM (execution mandate)
This repository executes UQO Working Paper 31, PRISME: Intervention-Supervised Sparse Workspace Editing for
Small Language Models (author: Simon-Pierre Boucher, UQO). The full research mandate (phases 0–15, immutable
rules, hypotheses H1–H7, baselines, ablations, paper structure) was supplied by the author on 2026-10-29 and is
reproduced in docs/MANDATE.md. Working rules that bind every session in this repository:
- Scientific truth first: never fabricate runs, metrics, citations, hardware or proofs. Every number in the
manuscript traces to a run id in
experiments/runs/andresults/claim_registry.csv. - Phases are executed in order with acceptance gates logged in
PROGRESS.md; failures go toFAILURES.md, design changes toDECISIONS.md. Unfavourable runs are never deleted. - Minimal falsifiable version first (no persistent memory, no RAG, no MoE, no RL, no tool use).
- Resource boundaries: laptop (M5 Max) + existing MacLustr SSH access only; no purchases, no new credentials.
- Independent train / calibration / dev / locked-test splits; test splits are not read before
protocol/preregistration.mdis frozen (seeprotocol/locked_test_manifest.json).
