Scrape of Airbnb's public search pages for the province of Quebec (listing cards). Not an Inside Airbnb extract: no room type, host ID, amenity list, cleaning fee, minimum stay or calendar. |
| Raw file |
cleaned_dataset_sample.csv (5,000 cards × 19 fields: name, city, property_type, price_numeric, price_category, rating, rating_category, bedrooms, bathrooms, guests_count, amenities_count, num_images, num_reviews, quality_score, is_superhost, is_guest_favorite, pets_allowed, lat, long). The raw file is not available (absent from this repository, from the laptop and from the cluster as of 2026-10-17). |

data/processed/airbnb_clean_wp5.parquet — the 3,456 priced cards, as cleaned by the companion paper UQO WP 5 (02_clean_airbnb.py: price winsorised at p1/p99 = $30.96 / $18,205, missing ratings median-imputed, missing review counts set to 0, city names standardised). This is the only local copy of the data and the input of scripts/10_revision_reanalysis.py, which reverses the rating imputation and repairs bathrooms/bedrooms from the card title. |
| Collection date |
Early 2026; the file carries no timestamp. Same 5,000 cards as WP 5 (rental extraction dated 8 January 2026). |
| Known defects |
Displayed price is bimodal: 26.5 % of priced cards show a multi-night stay total (≈ 23 nights) instead of a nightly rate; bathrooms = 0 whenever the title qualifies the bath (shared/private/half); studios have bedrooms = 0; 50 titles served in German with decimal-comma ratings truncated to 4.0 in the rating field; quality_score is a scraper composite of reviews, badges and photos. |
| Analysis sample |
2,480 cards classified in the nightly-price regime (data/processed/analysis_sample.csv, written by the script). |
